Messy Monday

After our return to Izmir, me and Yiğit went to @ office. From there I went with another 2 trainees(two girls from Kazakhstan) and one @ member to my new workplace in EÇEV. It's situated in suburb of Karşıyaka(part of Izmir), but the location itself is quite nice, it's on the hill so there's really nice view to the city. There is also small garden around it.
We spent there about an hour talking about basic rules and our tasks. "Un"fortunately there is only one person (ex-AIESEC member) speaking English, his name is Onur and he is a chess teacher, the others don't know English at all or they know just some basic words, so maybe I'll have to teach English also them :)

When we got back to office again I've finaly met my buddy Cihan and I've found that I will also live at his flat. He's really good man and he also like alcohol :D His flat is situated in Buca, quite far from office and really far from EÇEV, but it doesn't matter because my working hours are just 9:30-13:30 so I won't have to weak up so early. I've also met my second flatmate, but I really don't remember his name. When we arrived to the flat we've found some surprise there - no water from 9 till 23(in fact my flatmate was waiting for it till 3:00 am) for next three days because of building a subway nearby probably :( It's amazing how many things you cannot do without water... Fortunately the turkish poeple have usualy some reserve of water, so we could make at least the dinner. As usualy for students it was pastes and not so usualy in CR also some homemade chips. I also tried some turkish drink, its name is GAZOZ and it is something like ginger beer(slavny paguv zazvorovy tonik :D ), then I went to my bed hoping that there will be water at least in the morning...

First weekend in Turkey - Çeşme summerhouse

After my arrival to Izmir I went to LC office, then I was sojourn in flat of an @ member. His name is Yiğit and he is part of ICX team. Because I didn’t go to Cappadocia tour his parents invited me to their summerhouse in Çeşme. Çeşme is favourite holiday place because of its friendly sea climate and lot of clubs situated in there. It is also known for its food specialty – Kumru. It’s a kind of sandwich made from special bread, kind of salami(Sucuk), ham, cheese, tomatoes etc. I’ve tried it directly the first night in there and I’ve found that it’s really worthy to buy.
On Saturday I went with Yiğit and some his friends(from Turkey and Netherlands) to a beach, where we spent the rest of the day swimming and talking. When we returned to summerhouse we were having a barbecue. I also took a taste of Turkish Raki and in return I offered them some Czech beer.
On Sunday Yiğit and his brother Mert took me to the town center and than to bazaar. After this short cultural interlude we met one of our friends from yesterday so we agreed on another trip to the seaside. This time we went to more hidden place and stayed there even longer. Thats why I got burn again :-/ After another great dinner I got traditional Turkish Kahve and after that I began to learn Tavla (backgammon) from Mert. Finally I got to bed about 2:00 am.

Journey planned out - destination Istanbul

As I promised before, my subscriptions will be short and also most of time in English. My trip began on Tuesday, 2nd July at Zvonarka bus station in Brno. We went through Slovakia, Hungary and Serbia to Bulgaria. In Sophia 6:30-8:30 I had to change for the bus to Istanbul. In 15:00 I’ve finally crossed the border with Turkey and when I arrived in Istanbul it was around 18:30. I was little bit confused, but especially tired, so I asked somewhere about the bus to Izmir. Fortunately I’ve found it easily, quickly enough to get to the bus in time. Departure was at 19:00 o’clock.

The new beginning

No, to by bylo k uvodu a ted k veci.

STAY CALM - Lukyn
